Day #220/365- It's a Special Day!

Okay my friends- I need to let you in on some special news.  Today, I am being featured over at Mama's Little NestworkMama Hen has created this wonderful "nest" filled with fabulous blogs and the wonderful people who write them.  It is a really great place to find some refreshing, fun, inspiring and motivational blogs.  So you have to head on over and check it out okay?  You won't be disappointed.  I promise!

If you happen to be Soaking Up the Sunnyside of Life for the first time today, I want to say, "Welcome!"  I am so happy you stopped by and hope you enjoy having a look around.  You will notice that I love finding the good in each day. I force myself to write positively every single day and I especially love the feeling I get after I have written.  Writing is so good for the soul, don't you think?

I have chosen a few photographs from past posts to "highlight" what I love to blog about. Take a peek!
I love to blog about the kids I teach and how they inspire me!
I often blog about something from school.  Like this day- the day I put a spider on my head.
It's all for the kids!  Aaaggghhh!
Pictures of the beach and the sunny surroundings are a frequent here!
I love and adore my family and blog about them often!
I would be lost without my friends!  I Soak Up the fact that I work with all of these wonderful gals!
They provide so many Sunnysides to my days!
I probably blog too much about food!  Haha!  Good lord do I love seafood!
Sorry if you aren't a Penn State or Steelers fan!  You'll have to ignore the football posts!
I still have my Pennsylvania roots and cheer for them proudly!
I love to cook and blog about it!  This dish was scrumptious!
The sunrise I witness almost every single morning on my way to work.
I love capturing the beauty of this place I have made my home. I am still in awe each day!

Speaking of sunrises, please always remember this my friends:  "While you never know what gifts life will bring, you can trust that every sunrise offers possibilities.  Every day holds beautiful moments and new dreams waiting for you to come and find them." (Duvall) And of course, please remember to Soak Up the Sunnyside of this beautiful thing we call life every...single... day.   Okay?

Thank you again, Mama Hen.  I sure have Soaked Up every moment of this!  :)

And to everyone stopping by from "The Nest"- thanks for dropping in!  You have truly brightened my day!

  4. Congratulations on your feature! I was already following you but stopped by to say hi. Your blog is so pretty, and so inspirational! I need to take some tips from you and always find the good in each day...even when I'm pulling my hair out.

Where in FL are you? My mom taught in Pinellas County for 30 years and retired a few years ago. I admire anyone can do that job. Teachers are wonderful people!

  18. Isn't being a featured blogger so much fun?! I loved receiving all of the comments and meeting new followers. I loved this post...you just had to go and put your pic of shrimp and cheese grits again. I was just getting over my fantasies about that dish! That actually made me smile! Please tell me that is one of those plastic spiders in your hair. As much as I love nature, I have never (nor do I intend to ever) intentionally allowed a creepy-crawly spider near my person!

  20. Love the blogs that Mama Hen features. They're always so inspirational and uplifting and yours is, too. You are a brave woman to put a spider on your head - you'd never get me to do that, even for the kids -not even a plastic spider!! I live in Los Angeles but love the Southern Beaches, particularly the SC beaches - we used to go every year (hubby is from TN). Looking forward to reading more uplifting posts! (:

  25. I just popped over from "the nestwork" & I am glad I did! I wasn't as smart as you & here I am stuck shoveling snow in Minnesota :) But I can totally relate to "all for the kids" as I used to think that when I did crazy stuff as a second grade teacher before I started staying home with my own kiddos. Your piscture brought back a lot of memories & made me smile! Good job teach!!!
