Day # 72- MY yard

I was making dinner this evening when I happened to look out my sunroom window and see Roxy (the neighbor's dog) "taking care of business" (if you know what I mean) in MY yard.  I wasn't shocked because she (the dog) has been wandering over to MY yard for as long as I can remember to do her #2.  Why couldn't she pick MY yard for #1?  Why does MY yard need to be the dumping ground of #2 poo??? I don't have a dog, but I feel like I do because every time I go out in MY yard to work, I pick up poo as if I had a pooch.  At this rate, I should seriously just buy a pooper scooper!  Am I just more sensitive to this because I don't have a dog?  Do people who have dogs mind it when other dogs poop in their yard?  I have no idea, I just know it really gets to me. Anyway, a miracle happened tonight!  An absolute miracle I tell you!  About 30 seconds after I witnessed Roxy tarnish my grass, her owner came over, with a bag in his hand.  At first I thought he must just be returning from the grocery store and has a new bag of treats or a bone to give his dog as a reward for pooping in MY yard and not his.  But no!  He seriously bent over (suit, tie and all) and picked up the poop himself with his little bag!  Who is this man and where has he been for the past two years????  It was all I could do to not open the window and sing The Hallelujah Chorus and thank him!  Instead, I stood there in shock for a minute and Soaked Up the Sunnyside of having one less poo to pick up the next time I go out in my yard.  Yes my friends, I have told you it's the little things that can make my day.  The little things. So to my neighbor- THANK YOU!  Thank you for doing the right thing by taking ownership of your pet and thanks for "taking care of business!"  Get it?  Taking care of business!?! Sorry- bad joke.  Really bad.
